Getting Organized Series -Delegation-Part 1 of 6
Get organized through Delegation
Getting organized is always in the back of all of our minds.
This is one area that is easy to put off. Why?
Usually due to not knowing where to start and therefore putting it off.
As I work with my clients and other entrepreneurs I hear concerns about the need to get organized over and over so I put together a 6 part series to address getting organized.
PART 1–DELEGATE
At some point you have to realize you can not do it all alone.
Have your spouse help sort the bills, file paperwork, help with accounting, assist in returning calls or setting up appointments.
If you have older children they can bundle, stamp, address, and organize. Use Kinko’s services to make copies.
Invest in software that will help in streamlining some of your routine tasks.
If a $100 dollar software program can save you hours of your time it is more than worth it.
Let’s say you earn $100 per hour X 8 hours of your time saved a month this equals $800 saved a month or $9,600 saved a year.
When you put those hours back into ”production” you now have extra hours to add to your core functions.
If a program can simplify a task, it is clearly well worth it.
In the long run you not only save time but you save money as well while still being productive.
A small investment in the right program will make a big impact.
Not all your tasks can be converted into a program application. Some duties such as web site updates, desktop publishing, graphic design, presentations development, non-profit fund raising, and general secretarial services (letter generation, data base creation and population, editing …) are better done by a live person.
These are tasks you can delegate to your Virtual or Live Assistant.
A skilled professional that completes tasks for you.
Tasks that might have a large learning cure for you to accomplish like web site building or desktop publishing can easily be delegated to your Assistant.
