Twitter for Small Business – Tuesday’s Tips
Tips for using Twitter to connect with your audience
For some Twitter is a social media mystery.
Once you understand a few simple rules it is easy to jump in and be part of the conversation.
Here are some tips to getting started:
Please Retweet.
Do you want your followers to share your message? Just ask add “Plz RT” to your post.
Keywords
Do things that will increase your following base with people that are interested in what you do by weaving keywords into your tweets.
Those that monitor keywords that are relevant to their interest will be able to include you in their conversation.
Hashtags
Similar to keywords, use relevant hashtags that will allow you to be part of the conversation.
Hashtags allow you to show up in feeds that group used hashtags together.
So, people who follow certain hashtags will be able to spot your tweet.
If you are at a conference or event see if they have a hashtag. Other participants at the event will be able to connect and communicate with you.
Build relationships
Strengthen your relationships with your follower base by sharing content that is valuable.
It is great to keep general conversations going but, where engagement happens is when people feel connection to content that they find interesting, they share, like re-tweet.
Interact with your followers
If they are taking the time to interact with you, take the time to interact with them. Enough said.
Twitter is all about keeping a conversation live.
If you do not have time to use all the Social Media site that you want to (and who would) pick your top one or two and focus on using them well.
